Hello! I also downloaded the A-patch and my AV detected
a trojan, so I did an online scan on the A-patch App and they detected 6 infections

Antivirus Sig Version Result
a-squared 15/01/2009 Trojan-Dropper.Agent!IK
F-PROT 6 20090115 W32/Heuristic-210!Eldorado
IkarusT3 14/01/2009 Trojan-Dropper.Agent
MHR (Malware Hash Registry) 16/01/2009 Virus Found - detect rate 8%
QuickHeal 15 January, 2009 Suspicious
Sophos 16/01/2009 Sus/Behav-1000

So do I need these infections in order to remove the msn ads?

You people should know that a program which is able to patch another (specially a Microsoft's one) is usually spotted as infected. There is no infection those are false alarms, the AVs with fewest false alarms are NOD32 and McAffe. Usually other AVs are told by MS and other great companies to spot files which may harm them as infected, because removing ads is against terms of usage of WLM, even though I use A-Patch for years, and I can tell there ain't no virus in it.

There is no virus/trojan/etc in A-Patch, 100% clean.
